    ToraFlora contains the active substance torasemide, which belongs to a class of diuretics called loop diuretics. ToraFlora increases the amount of excreted water (urine). It is used when your body retains too much water (oedema) as a result of heart, kidney or liver failure. Your doctor will prescribe a dose of ToraFlora that will increase the amount of water excreted.

    Indications

    ToraFlora is indicated for the treatment and prevention of essential hypertension, edema due to congestive heart failure, chronic renal failure or liver failure.

    Prescription medicinal product.

    Concentrations and dosage form: 5 mg; 10 mg tablets

  • Description

    Prostanorm is a combination of two different active substances –  solifenacin and tamsulosin.

    Solifenacin belongs to a group of medicines called anticholinergics and tamsulosin belongs to a group of medicines called alpha-blockers.

    Solifenacin reduces the undesired contractions of your bladder and increases the amount of urine that your bladder can hold. Tamsulosin enables urine to pass more readily through the urethra and facilitates urination.

    Indications

    Prostanorm is used in men to treat both moderate to severe storage symptoms and voiding symptoms of the lower urinary tract which are caused by bladder problems and an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Prostanorm is used when previous treatment with a monoproduct for this condition did not relieve symptoms adequately.

  • Description

    Ferbessa is a fixed combination. Ferbessa is a combination of two active ingredients, perindopril and amlodipine. Perindopril is an ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor. Amlodipine is a calcium antagonist (which belongs to a class of medicines called dihydropyridines).

    Together they work to widen and relax the blood veesels, which results in a reduction of blood pressure. Blood can flow through the body more easily and the heart does not need to work so hard.

    Indications

    Ferbessa is prescribed for treatment of:

    • high blood pressure (hypertension) and/or treatment of stable coronary artery disease (a condition where the blood supply to the heart is reduced or blocked).

  • Description

    Metlinka contains two different medicines called sitagliptin and metformin:

    • sitagliptin belongs to a class of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors)
    • metformin belongs to a class of medicines called biguanides.

    They work together to control blood sugar levels in adult patients with a form of diabetes called ‘type 2 diabetes mellitus’. This medicine helps to increase the levels of insulin produced after a meal and lowers the amount of sugar made by your body.

    Along with diet and exercise, this medicine helps lower your blood sugar. This medicine can be used alone or with certain other medicines for diabetes (insulin, sulphonylureas, or glitazones).

    Indications

    For adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:

    Metlinka is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients inadequately controlled on their maximal tolerated dose of metformin alone or those already being treated with the combination of sitagliptin and metformin.
