TromBye

Description

TromBye contains the active ingredient cilostazol, which belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 3 inhibitors.
Its actions are several and include dilating some blood vessels and reducing the clotting activity (to stick together) of some blood cells, called platelets, in the blood vessels.
TromBye has been prescribed for “intermittent claudication”. It is a spasmodic pain in the legs when walking and is caused by insufficient blood supply to the legs.

Indications

TromBye has been shown to improve the maximum and painless walking distance in patients with intermittent claudication who are painless at rest and without evidence of peripheral tissue necrosis (stage II peripheral arterial disease according to Fontaine).
TromBye is intended for use as a second-line agent in patients in whom lifestyle changes (including smoking cessation and controlled exercise programs) and other appropriate interventions have not sufficiently improved the symptoms of intermittent claudication.

Subject to medical prescription.
