• Contacts measure blood sugar

    November 25, 2014

“Google” is developing contact lenses with a sensor that will measure blood sugar. This is good news for all diabetics, who have to measure it daily and in a painful way.

The information collected with the contacts will be able to be transmitted wirelessly through a small antenna. The data will be received by a device which will be able to process and analyze it.

In the development process it is even considered to embed a light indicator in the contacts that would instantly disclose to the consumers that their blood sugar is high or low. What is measured is the tear fluid in the eye and every second it brings forth new data.
